What is a "Make an Offer" Listing?
One of Auction Simplified's best sales tools is the "Make an Offer Option. Why? Because it can really benefit both parties.
- Buyers like it because they get bargains on cars they want and they can get the car now if the offer is accepted.
- Sellers like it because they move merchandise faster and accept bids that may not have been possible with a standard auction.
How Make an Offer Works:
Sellers can choose to add the Make an Offer on cars in their Open Bid Sale or as a stand alone sale type in a digital only listing. When listing the car, the seller just has to check the box that says "Make and offer" under the auction type box.
Buyers can Make an Offer by clicking the blue "Make Offer" button on the vehicle listing page.
Once an offer comes in, the Seller then has 12 hours in which to accept the offer, decline the offer, or make a counteroffer, at which point the Buyer then has 12 hours to accept the counteroffer, decline the counteroffer, or make a counter-counteroffer. Both parties need to move fast because if a bid above reserve is placed in the mean time, the Make an Offer is turned off and all open offers are auto declined. Once the 12 hours is up or if another Offer is accepted, yours will expire.
